Russian minister says he, Perry mull projects stopped by sanctions

WASHINGTON, Jun 27 (PRIME) -- Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak discussed projects suspended by the sanctions with his U.S. counterpart Rick Perry and Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin, he told reporters on Wednesday.

“I’ve had a meeting with Mr. Perry in the Energy Department. We discussed issues of bilateral cooperation between our countries in the sphere of energy, the current state and prospects of cooperation, participation and work of U.S. companies on the Russian market, including such companies as ExxonMobil, Schlumberger, Halliburton, Honeywell and others… We discussed influence of sanctions on these companies,” Novak said.

According to Novak, the officials discussed construction of Russia’s Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline to Europe, while coordination of the OPEC plus non-member oil output reduction deal was not negotiated.

Novak also said that Russia will consider a U.S. call to buy no Iranian oil in legal terms.

The official also said he had invited Perry to the Russian Energy Week from October 3 till October 6 in Moscow.
